Dyslexik Disko

Dyslexik Disko is the artist name of DJ and producer Tom Granton-Egan.
Born in South London in the mid-80’s, Tom’s main musical influences growing up were Trance and Drum & Bass with DJ acts such as Tiesto, Armin van Buuren, Above & Beyond and High Contrast being major influences.
Tom first started DJing on vinyl during his time at University in Manchester and fell in love with the Minimal Tech scene that was massive in the city during the mid to late 2000’s.

After returning from University, Tom bought his first DDJ controller and started to mix a wide range of different music genres including House to Breaks.
After a short hiatus, Tom started playing again during the Covid pandemic in 2020 and has not looked back, he started posting various multi-genre mixes on Soundcloud and Mixcloud such as “Lockdown Sessions”, “Back To The New Rave”, “A Second Rave” and “Vaccination Nation” which can still be accessed via these platforms.

This lead to his first radio show with Basement FM in August 2021 and then subsequent weekly radio shows with Broke FM and Data Transmission Radio, it was producing these weekly mixes where those early influences of Trance and Drum & Bass lead Tom to focus his DJing and laterally music production towards Progressive House, Melodic House and Deep House.
After producing well over 100 hours of content with previous radio shows, Tom applied for a weekly slot with Select and was incredibly pleased to be asked to join the team in April 2023!

The opportunity with Select has offered Tom another excellent platform for his mixes/music production and he is incredibly proud to be part of such a talented group of DJs and very well respected radio station.
In terms of the future, Tom will keep refining his DJ and production sound and will be looking to expand this to a wider audience with a series of live events in the pipeline going forward.
