NEAL MCCLELLAND

Neal McClelland’s infatuation with sound began at very young age listening to Jeff Young &
Robbie Vincent on national radio, he’s at home with an audience having been training
professionally as a child actor with the National Youth Theatre in London at the start of the
UK’s Rave scene in late ’80s.
Preferring the intimacy and individuality that comes hand in hand with radio presenting, Neal
has held down many daily shows in his home outside Belfast, Northern Ireland.
He has interviewed some of the biggest and brightest stars of all time, such as Nile Rodgers,
Rod Stewart, Eric Prydz, Pete Tong and Jon Bon Jovi.
His sharp, punchy and self-assured approach has led to Neal developing something of a cult
following on Select Radio, across other radio stations in the UK & in Northern Ireland with
his daily Drive time show on Downtown – coupling his organic swagger with a natural and
total love for the music he plays.
The most idiosyncratic representation of Neal’s time in radio comes in the form of Select’s
‘Nocturnal Radio Show’. McClelland Promotes the freshest cuts of Disco, House and Techno.
Nocturnal seeks to not only bring the biggest and boldest names from the UK DJ & Producer
circuit, but break amazing tracks and interview the biggest names from right across the globe.
Furthermore, Neal has journeyed deep into the realms of music production; Neal currently
teams up as one half of collaborative duo Cristobal and Jamiez alongside producer Chris
Woods.
World sounds, Tribal, Ethnic & Acid beats are the mainstay in all of their tracks.
Drawing inspiration from the East Coast sound of Roger Sanchez, the timeless joy of Chic
and the revolution of their contemporaries (Joseph Capriati, Adam Beyer, Riva Starr) the
doublet look set to take the world by storm with an impending management deal due to be
announced and a sound that is at home within ‘big room’ dance music culture.
In 2020 McClelland joined forces with Nathan X during the dark days of lockdown part 1
remotely. Nathan X has enjoyed much chart success under the stable of Basement Jaxx –
Atlantic Jaxx, with a 20 year career in Electronic Music.
In 2022 the duo enjoyed Cool Cuts Top 20 success for 2 weeks, 4 Weeks Top 10 UK Club
Chart and international DJ Chart success also. The duo have also remixed tracks all with UK
Chart success and have a new track ‘I’ll House You’ out towards the end of this summer
Never one to become selfish with the demands of his career, Neal has recently been spending
time giving back to the community through a series of DJing workshops in the Juvenile
Justice System where he works alongside some of the young offenders.
As a club DJ over 30 years Neal has played alongside some of the greats including, Harry
Choo Choo, Judge Jules, Ferry Corsten, Paul Van Dyk and very recently Roger Sanchez on
several occasions.
Neal holds several long term residencies at home in Northern Ireland with a mixing style that
is upfront, on point, hugely energetic with razor sharp mixing styles that he’s perfected over
his years in front of a live audience.
As an event host Neal has seen himself over 20 years in front of huge audiences at Electronic
events including the now legendary Planet Love, Northern Ireland, Clubland events and
many many more.

Neal has firmly established himself as one of the UK, Ireland and the worlds major
Tastemakers for finding & breaking exciting Electronic Music and is one of the Uk’s front
runners when it comes to the art of presenting.
His informative, captivating and passionate approach – when coupled with a knowledge of
music that has been constantly evolving since his teens – makes for a distinguishing character
that you won’t soon forget.
Catch Neal McClelland on the Nocturnal Radio Show every Friday night/Saturday morning
from 02:00am.
