From the underground house scene to the forefront of disco-infused electronic music, Danny Does Disco (real name, Danny Bond) is a DJ, producer, and tastemaker with a long history of getting dance floors moving.
Hailing from Norwich, UK, Danny has been ever present in the electronic music world for almost three decades. His journey began in the mid-1990s, spinning vinyl in the vibrant underground house scene. It wasn't long before his passion for DJing evolved into a talent for production.
Danny was an influential member of the acclaimed house, pop, and electro producer trio, Bassmonkeys. The group released a string of successful tracks and remixes, gaining significant recognition under the wing of Mark Doyle's iconic Fierce Angel label, born from the legacy of Hed Kandi. The Bassmonkeys became a staple in the Fierce Angel roster, solidifying their place in the dance music landscape and performing across the globe.
Following his time with Bassmonkeys, Danny embarked on a solo career, initially producing under the alias Gadgetman. During this period, he also took on the role of label manager for his own imprint, FunkyTraxx, honing his skills in A&R and artist development.
Today, he is best known as Danny Does Disco, a project that sees him returning to his roots by infusing funky, disco, and jackin' house elements to create a sound that is both nostalgic and refreshingly current. Beyond this primary artist name, Danny explores different sonic territories through his other production pseudonyms, including 88 REASONS, The Last Disco, and Beats Everything, showcasing his versatility as a producer.
Never one to stand still, Danny launched a brand-new label, Dance First, Think Later (DFTL), in 2025. Teaming up with three close friends and fellow artists - Mike Chenery, Daysleepers, and WEZ-DJ - the label is a new home for forward-thinking dance music. This ethos is the foundation of Danny’s DJ sets, where he positions himself at the forefront, consistently representing the latest tunes and showcasing new and emerging artists.
With a deep understanding of what makes a dance floor tick, honed over years of experience, Danny continues to be a dynamic force in electronic music. Whether he's in the studio, running his label, or behind the decks, his dedication to the future of dance music is undeniable.
