Hailing from London, Danex is a 19 year old DJ and Producer who is quickly rising as one of the most exciting prodigies in the DJ world. His unique, fast-paced style of DJing combined with his forward thinking productions and electrifying stage presence has captured the attention of many in the cityβs dance music scene, and beyond.
Danexβs passion for music began at age 9, an obsession sparked by his favourite videogame, 'DJ Heroβ. From the outset, he was immediately drawn to a creative, technical style of DJing, but grounded in a love for House, with artists like Hot Since 82, Gorgon City and Mark Knight shaping his early musical identity. A year later, he would also venture into producing his own tracks.
Today, Danex continues to elevate these influences to new heights. Inspired by artists like Yamato, Fran DC and James Hype, his style of DJing is a dynamic blend primarily involving high-energy Tech House and EDM influences, often powerfully contrasted with deeper, more progressive and melodic elements. His most defining characteristic, however, is the seamless infusion of turntablism and technicality into his sets, often pushing the boundaries of technical possibility on the decks and pioneering entirely new mixing techniques. His technical flair, dynamic selection, and visible, unfiltered passion captivates audiences every time he performs.
This unique style is also reflected in his productions. Drawing on influences from across the EDM spectrum, Danexβs tracks range from sharp, bass-driven peak-time Tech House weapons, to more emotive, progressive and melodic anthems. His tracks have ignited dancefloors at many of his shows, and gathered support from industry heavyweights including the likes of Sam Supplier and Tough Love.
Despite his young age, Danex has already begun to make his mark on the dance music scene. At 13, Danex had his first label signing, and also performed at a livestream event hosted by the iconic EGG LDN during the Covid-19 pandemic. He would also make several radio appearances throughout his teens, including hosting his βNext Gen Takeoverβ show on EXT Radio and featuring on the Laurent Schark Selection show alongside Bob Sinclar and Todd Terry. Since turning 18, he has frequently performed at the legendary Ministry of Sound, having supported Kryder, Third Party, Example, Tchami, AC Slater, Marten Horger, Curbi, and many others, and recently holding a residency at XOYO.
Looking ahead to his 10th year as an artist, Danexβs focus remains firmly on the continued development of his craft, with ambitions of expanding to larger stages, releasing more music, and hopes of performing at even more shows to satisfy his neverending hunger for the craft.
