‘ I’m super excited that we managed to sign this record from James. His productions inspired me when I first listened to them on pirate radio back in the late 90s. Anyone who knows enough about the scene back then will know how good he really was.
Speaking to him on the phone gave me nostalgia talking about those days and more importantly finding out the amount of records he worked on with other producers.
Tracks like Paradise and I need love would 100% be in my top 10 all time Garage greats, when I say Garage I mean proper Garage. Finding out he was only 15 when he made these is absolutely mind blowing!!
You can hear the Garage vibe coming out in Unforgettable and that’s the main reason I signed it. But most importantly it’s a really cool track and has the 2024 edge!!
Lavonz is greatly respected as a producer for the ones that actually know. Maya Jane Coles recently had him on remix duties and if I’m honest like most of the artists that I’ve signed it’s only a matter of time.
Times change very fast in this music game, Lavonz took a long time out of making music, just like I did, but the purity of the art never changes, the vibe never dies and Lavonz is a fine example of that. ‘
Lavonz released on Locked On one of UK Garages biggest labels, this snippet from 2000 features Tuff Jam, Artful Dodger, Zed Bias, Todd Edwards & Grant Nelson to name a few.
It’s exciting to see a label with such a rich history like Jump Digital, having released tracks from prominent artists like Marco Strous, Joshwa, Ben Sterling, and Tommy Phillips, re-emerge and bring new music to the world.
I’m sure fans are eager to see what the future holds for the label and what new artists they will champion. It’s a testament to their dedication and passion that they’re returning with renewed energy and commitment to the music they believe in.
