93 FEET EAST – ARTIST FEATURE: ZOFIA
Ahead of our arrival at East London’s iconic 93 Feet East…We asked some of our immensely talented artists, who will be soundtracking your sizzling all-dayer, some quick fire questions.
Artist – Zofia
Room – The Hall / Live Room
We are buzzing to have you play for us at 93 Feet East on August 3rd. To begin, tell us a bit about yourself as an artist, where it began and some of your career highlights so far…
Z: I’ve loved raving since before I was even old enough to go out, then during lockdown I bought a DDJ 400 and taught myself to DJ! From then on I was obsessed and spent every spare minute learning to DJ, before landing my first DJ set at Lakota in Bristol. It took me a while to find my sound from starting with mixing Drum & Bass, to now being a tech house DJ! Radio has always also been a big part of my journey, from joining Select in 2021, before joining Capital Dance, where I now present the evening show.
We all have those records in the bag that will be there for eternity…what is the one record that stands out for you, one you couldn’t live without, that always sends the crowd?
Z: Mella Dee ‘Techno Disco Tool’ is an absolute favourite of mine. I first heard it when I was deep in my drum and bass era, and it was the first track that made me think “oh actually maybe I do actually like house music?!”
93 is one of London’s hottest venues. Have you played before? What are you most looking forward to about it?
Z: I’ve never actually even been to 93 Feet East so can’t wait to not only play there but also see the venue!
What have you got in the pipeline as an artist? Any new releases coming up that we can look forward to hearing at 93?
Z: A big goal of mine for 2024 is learn to produce music. After not getting on with Ableton, I’ve spent hours learning Logic Pro and am nearly ready to start sharing my music with the world!
Finally, do you have a message for the ravers who will be there on Saturday 3rd? What can we expect?
Z: Expect the grooviest tech house, some minimal tech edits of your fave songs, and a bit of a deep house vibe too!
