Alexis Lloyd is a DJ/producer from South East London.
Growing up he had an interest in many different types of music from a young age, influences included John Holt, Chaka Khan, Allison Moyet, to Elton John, UB40 and Luther Vandross.
Over time he fell in love with House Music and later on Jungle/D&B. In his early teens he discovered a pirate radio station called Upfront FM and found a love for UK Garage, from this he listened every day, taping his favourite tracks and shows. He soon got the bug starting his DJ journey, learning how to mix on friends decks until finally saving up enough money to buy a set of his own. Collecting/Mixing House & Garage became a passion, Alexis then progressed to having a show on a pirate radio station called Flashback FM then later in time moving to 2G FM, he also appeared as a guest on Elite, Alive & Supreme FM to name a few. Wanting to take things further, he entered a DJ competition & got to the final. From this he started playing out regularly over many years going by the name DJ Okie, playing alongside some of the biggest names in the scene as well as featuring some of the industry’s top MCs on his sets.
Having been off radio for over 20 years he approached Select and secured a weekly show playing the full spectrum of House in his own special way which he has been doing now for nearly 5 years.
